Choosing the right aerial silk

The FR Sports PRO Aerial Silk is made from 100% polyester and is available in several lengths and colours. The correct length primarily depends on the usable distance between the anchor point and the floor, together with the amount of fabric you want to have on the floor.

Silk lengthRecommended room height
8 mapprox. 3–3.5 m
10 mapprox. 4–4.5 m
12 mapprox. 5–5.5 m
16 mapprox. 7–7.5 m
18 mapprox. 8–8.5 m

As a guide, FR Sports recommends twice the room height plus a total of 1 to 4 m of additional fabric. Remember to account for the length of the rigging system.

  • Read the manufacturer's instructions in full before first use
  • Inspect the silk and rigging before every training session
  • Immediately remove damaged silks from service
  • Always use a suitable crash mat
  • Learn new techniques only under competent instruction
